DANGER! highly flammable

i think one of these signs should be slapped onto squirrel's rump!

for some unknown reason, he came home today with his entire belly and legs coated in what smells like kerosene!

even after a quick shampoo, the smell is still there and her fur has a little bit of that oily feel to it...
and when i pick her up, my hands smell like its coated with kerosene too!

it's a good thing we're not into candles and aromatheraphy...
otherwise...WHOOSH!

something bad has happened...i just know it.

i think something's happened to one of my students...
something really bad...
i hope it's not true but odds are that it is.

there's gonna be a meeting tomorrow morning for all subject teachers of a particular class..
and i'm one of them..

the school counsellor wants to see us...
i think it's to break the news to us...

intuition tells me it's the 'D' word...i really hope i'm wrong...=(

the holidays are here!

to tell you the truth...i'm not as excited as i tot i would be...
in fact..i'm really bored right now...
and the 1st day of the holiday is not even over yet!

so anywayz...it was teacher's day celebration yesterday...
the concert the kids had put up really blew me away!
the amount of talent in that school was staggering!

from the walk in by the teachers...
to an awesome skit that got the whole school roaring...
to a fabulous marionette performance...
and the many dances and vocal performances...
i have to say that i was duly impressed...
i think they did a much better job at planning, organizing and executing the whole event than anything the teachers themselves could have come up with...
fabulous...

unfortunately...blur me totally forgot to bring my camera!
grr....
what a waste...
but at least i've got 1 photo that i kinda 'stole' from a student's blog..tee hee..

but enough about school...

been awol from the blog for a really long time...
partly due to laziness but also mainly because i simply didn't have the time to do anything on the computer other than check and clear emails...

but i'm back!
and with photos!
but as i glance through all the photos i'm about to put up, i realise that i'm not in any of them!
well maybe one...
but that's all!
bah...the photographer always doesn't get to be in the photos...unless the photo is of my reflection..hee...

so...some things i've done since the last time i blogged...

well..
i went to hunt for crocodiles!
yup!
crocodiles!
=)

went to sungei buloh..hoping to catch a glimpse of 1 of the 2 crocodiles i heard that lived there...as well as the other animals of coz...
managed to see lots of these...

this cute little poser here was only a metre away from my toes...
and he (i think it's a he) remained really still the whole time i was snapping away...happy...
reptiles sure do make the best models...

i love the scenery at that place...
very still..
very quiet and peaceful...
and if you find the right shady spot, very cooling too!

so guess how many crocs i spotted!
none!
grr!

this is the upteenth time i've headed down to the places to look for crocs and til today...nothing!

to make things more annoying...here's an extract from the reserves wensite..

"Advice on crocodiles

Estuarine crocodiles are known to inhabit the waters of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. These are wild animals and they have a reputation for being aggressive.

Visitors are strongly advised to stay on visitor routes and not venture off the paths. On occasion, the crocodiles have been spotted basking on the visitor routes. Should visitors encounter a crocodile on the path, they should stay calm and back away slowly. Do not provoke the animal. Staff are present to help visitors should they need any assistance – please call the information counter at Tel: 6794 1401. Under no circumstances should visitors approach a crocodile. As with all wild animals, crocodiles should be treated with caution.

Crocodile warning signs have been posted at various parts of the Reserve
where they are most often spotted. Visitors are advised to heed these signs
for their own safety.

Visitors with feedback and suggestions can write to info@sbwr.org.sg or call our Information Counter at 6794 1401. They can report crocodile sightings taking note of the location, date, time and number of crocodiles seen. The information will help the Reserve further monitor and track the crocodiles’ movements."

and i saw lots of these everywhere i went...

Once upon a time, there was a little cat named squirrel. He went for a walk in the forest.
Pretty soon he came upon a house.
He knocked and when no one answered, he walked right in.

Squirrel was very tired by this time, so he went down the corridor to the bedrooms.
He lay down in the king sized bed, but it was too big.
Then he lay in the queen sized bed, but it was still too big.
Then he lay down in the third bed and it was just right.
Squirrel fell asleep.

As he was sleeping, the family came home.

When Cindy got to her bedroom, she growled, "Someone's been sleeping in my bed!"

"Someone's been sleeping in my bed too!" said Samantha

"Someone's been sleeping in my bed and he's still there!" exclaimed Petrie

Just then, squirrel woke up and saw the family. He screamed, "Yikes!".
And he jumped up and ran out of the room.
But he didn't run down the corridor.
He didn't run out the door.
He didn't run away from the house.
But! He hid away in a strange little corner...chuckling to himself and planned his next move...

And of coz, waited for samantha to play "Where's squirrel!" again...

depression setting in...
tot i could go home early today...
to cure my monday blues...
but then i learn that the day's not over...
coz got LMS training in the afternoon!
